2 LAPD Police Injured in Vehicle Accident while Pulling Driver for Traffic Violation

At least two Los Angeles Police District (LAPD) deputies were reportedly injured following a vehicle accident that occurred in Los Angeles.

According to reports, the incident happened as the cops were pulling over a driver who violated traffic laws at around 11 o’clock in the evening last Tuesday at the intersection of Los Feliz Boulevard and Riverside Drive. The cops claimed that the patrol car they were riding jumped a curb and struck a light pole. As a result, the front bumper of the car was severely damaged.

Fortunately, no other vehicles or pedestrians were involved. However, the traffic violator whom the cops were trying to pull over was not apprehended.

On the other hand, the cops were subsequently taken to the hospital. According to investigators, the two sustained minor injuries but they are expected to recover soon.

In the past few weeks, numerous cases regarding a police pursuit that ended in a crash or a pedestrian accident have been reported. Accordingly, this incident is not far different from the previous news of police pursuit related incidents. It may not be considered as a car chase but it is two police officers trying to pull over a traffic violator.

Hopefully, such series of accidents would catch the attention of the proper authorities concerned so that something would be done to prevent the same from happening.

Perhaps, police should be more careful and alert during pursuits so that no innocent parties will be involved. Meanwhile, a Los Angeles injury attorney who understands how tough it is to track and crack down traffic violators still hopes for an accident-free police pursuit next time.
